okay okay

I have to be one of the slackest bloggers around!

Here is a super quick round up of the last month

October CC (see I am really really bad blogger!) Typography

All about letters/words

Challenge to decorate a chippie letter and use it on a card or on one of the other challenges for the CC

Wedding Day layout was for Round 7 of Around the World in 80 days competition

Rolled paper and cutwork, the mini challenge cluster, bling and the criteria below!!

2 word title

3 photos

4 pp

5 lines of journalling

6 circles

One for The Paper Flourish using the Snowfall range from Bo Bunny

Plenty of cutwork on this one too!!

and a closeup

Which brings us to the November CC

So after doing an all about letters one in October it only seemed fitting to do numbers this month!

I was so blown away by a tutorial on Tammy Tutterow's blog (link on my side bar - you MUST check her out A- MAZ- ING!) I gave her frost technique a go (totally lifted it infact!) as the cover to my Daily December Album. Unfortunately my rock candy crackle was really thick and it was such as hot day yesterday it was drying way too quick and didnt work out as I hoped. So I might just have another bash at it.

My challenge criteria created 'something' with a shaped base. Use a technique you have been wanting to try out and numbers in your title.

Really simple to the other challenges this month!!

Did I say quick round up??

Sorry for the really long post!

I'll try and be more regular.

Cheers

Terri

80 days

only a few more rounds left in this competition.
As Phineas Fogg and Passepartout part company in China there is two challenges!
Challenge A single layout and B double layout are the same with at least four layers, journal block, banner, decorative edge and T!m inspired layout and of course your chosen stamp.
The photo for challenge A had to be a big one and take up 3/4 of your layout and for challege B they needed to extend across your layout.
I dont usually do doubles as I seem to struggle to 'fill' the pages, but I'm really pleased with how this one turned out.

Around the world in 80 days

The competition is now in full swing.........we are almost up to round 4!!

I was away for the first round but here are my example layouts for rounds 2 and 3

Challenge 2 - Paris

We had to choose art from impressionist painter for our inspiration for our layout.

Mine is Monets Garden of Giverny

Technique - sewing, hand or machine, none of the fake variety!

String

Paint, mists or inks

Canvas

Hot air balloon

The girls were also required to choose a stamp and this stamp has to be used on every layout throughout the competition. Mine is the script stamp used on the background using a emboss resist technique with distress inks to colour. The butterfly is my canvas element.

Challenge 3 - Istanbul

The girls had to chose in advance a chippie shape to use in a repeatitive pattern on their layout.

Technique - embossing the stamped variety - which was a bugger seeing as I used it on my previous layout!! LOL!!

Use your choose chippie shape in a tesselated type pattern
Flourishes

5 different colours in your patterned paper and black and white if you need.

and of course your chosen stamp!

I have stamped and heat embossed my chippie diamonds and formed them into a funky kinda flower

Darn kids all I wanted was a nice pic of them, but alas not on this day!

Thanks for poping in!

The Amazing Chook Race Update

I was told by me mate Em that I was slack and need to update my blog! As if she can talk!! It's been 3 weeks since she has updated hers.....LOL!!
And she is right, I do......I have plenty to share so I will try and play catch ups over the next week or so.

Today I will share my final two layouts for The Race.
Vietnam
Mostly red and yellow and we had to follow a sketch

I had just gotten back from Tassie and had 2 days to complete this layout and for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to embellish it.......so I didnt!

Which brings me to the last round......back on home soil - Australia

We had to used scallops, something that had been exposed to heat, take inspiration from an Aussie song or poem and it had to be a white space layout.

Well not quite white space............ but I got carried away with the inking, it looks really pretty!!

The Race is now over but I had such a great time joining in on the competition. It was a very close race with some very talented scrappers and I was totally floored to find that I had won!!A big THANK YOU to all the DT and forum girls for making me feel welcome...................mmmmwah!

Thanks for stopping by!

Terri

PS Whats with blogger and all the really big spacing?

Anyone got any idea on how to resolve that??

Challenges

.............from the forum girls.

As mentioned in a previous post, the lovely forum girls at Artistic put up all the challenges last month......................and gave the design team a break???

This was for Chris card challenge.

My first ever trishutter card made easily with the aid of a sizzix die!!

Makes it very simple to make one of these card.....might need to invest in that die.

Used my scraps form the beautiful Blae and Ivy collection.

Inside

This layout was for Laraine's challenge.

Ended up being more of a lift than I intended (blush)
Here is the original by the super talented Anita

Had a fun time with the tissue paper and glimmermist background.....doing another layout 'as we speak' using this technique.

.....and the close up!

There was also and off the page challenge by Sharon, a colour challenge by Noriel and a matchbox challenge set by Maree. I combined the colour and matchbox challenges, simply because I was extremely time poor this month, but I will post this shortly ;)

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back tomorrow with my last share before we head off to Tassie!! Whoooo Hoooo.

Cheers

Round 9 Amazing Chook Race

Cant believe we are up to round 9 already!
This round saw us visiting Europe, some of us went to Spain others to France and Germany, while I chose to head to Italy. No surprises there really if you know me and my love for great Italian food!!
I used more of the wonderful Emma's Shoppe range by Crate paper and Prima embellishments. I also got out one of my Crafters Workshop templates that I have had for awhile and have been threatening to use.

I just love texture paste, must use it more.

Not long now before we head of to Tassie - a week today YAY!!
Only have two more layouts to complete before I go, didnt think I was going to get thru everything that needed doing but I have.

Hope you have a scrappy day
Cheers

Who's That Girl?

Dont know about you gals but I dont do layouts on myself all that often. I know that I'm just as important as everyone else and in the future my kids and grandkids (eeeekk!) will want to know something about me. Not that I have shared much here as yet as I need to catch up with Mum and ask her a few questions before I can add my journalling.
This is another 'double up layout' combining a Crafter Club challenge, to use acetate on your layout and Challenge the DT over at Chookscraps.
I added the criteria of fussy cutting and a layout about themselves to the acetate to form my challenge.

A close up of some layering

Better get my nose back to the grindstone!!
Cheers

Busy busy

I have so much to do and organise in these two weeks before I head of to Tasmania, I'm positive I'm wizzing around in circles and getting nowhere!

This month over at Artistic the forum girls are running the show in regard to monthly challenges and the upcoming cybercrop. They are doing a fabulous job too! I have been madly trying to get the challenges done, I have completed 2 so far and I am combining another 2, with permission of course!! Will share these in another post.

I am no longer working with the Kaisercraft releases each month.
A real shame as there is some beautiful releases in the next few months.
Tracey has 'promoted' me to work with everything else between Prima, Janine Koczwara gig and Kaiser, now Tania Rigwell show.
So the first lot of goodies I was given is this gorgeous range from Crate Paper - Emma's Shoppe and a stack of Prima embellishments!
This layout is also for Round 8 of the Amazing Race.

Have been sick with good ole tonsilitis and now I have the flu so I'm feeling very flat and mojoless. But I suppose it's better to get all the illness out the way before we go on holidays.
Currently working on the next round of the Amazing Race with more of the Crate Paper, will share soon.

Take care and keep well

Amazing Race - Round 7

We have been visiting Ireland (EIRE) this round.
E -embossing
I -inking
R - repeated sounds (rhyming, alliteration, repeated word)
E - envelope
Here is my take on the challenge

A close up of the cluster for you, just love these Melissa Frances envelopes, so so cute.

I was really inspired by a card by Tracry Holdyk in the current Cardmaking and Stamping Mag.

I loved its simplicity and the butterflies fluttering across the card.

I have a tonne of scrapping to do before we head off to Tassie in four and a bit weeks.

So I'd better get cracking!

Take Care

Blae and Ivy

I just love this release from Kaiser............it's so pretty but could quite easily be used for male orientated cards or layouts too.

I was asked to include fringed flowers.
No probs cos I enjoy making them!

Based on a Mojo Monday sketch

and this one needs something else.............maybe I should have embossed the cardstock.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend

Terri

2021??

What will you be doing in 2021?

I'll be opening up a time capsule and reflecting on my families achievements, the cost of living, what we looked like (oooooooo that's the scarey bit!! hehehe!) and the news headlines of 2011.

Open the doors............

No more OTP items from me for a while now!!

Thursday, June 23, 2011

I just realised

I forgot to upload my June challenge for the beautiful ladies over at Art !!
It's probably cos I dont really like the layout all that much - hehe

The criteria was based on the Queen as she celebrated her 85th birthday this year.
The colours red, white and blue needed to feature on the layout - for the Union Jack
Her stationary is, no doubt beautifully embossed - embossing.
And She has a stunning collection of jewellery - so I want to see bling/glitter anything sparkly

I just cant seem to pull together a boy layout as easily as a girly one.................I must be an all flowers and bling kinda girl at heart!!

TFSB!

More Mixed Media

A few weeks back I was playing around with 'stuff' after being totally inspired by Finnabair's amazing creations! This lady totally rocks the mixed media.
Here is the layout that I put together using all sorts of bits and pieces, some of which I have had in my stash for well over 7 years!

The embellishment with memories written on it is an old fashioned projector screen.
Pull down on the washer and my journalling is revealed. It's a little personal, so I haven't shared it with you.

Thanks to all that pop in for a browse and a special THANK YOU to all those that take the time to leave a comment. I really do appeciate it.

Cheers

Winter is here!

Terribly cold here in Adelaide today and I'm home looking after my daughter who is getting over a cold. She is getting bored with being at home and is keen to get back to school tomorrow.
So I thought I'd share a few OTP items I have made recently.
YES you read right!!
OTP!!!

Firstly a card for early arrival of Makayla

and a coordinating keepsake box!
The top

A close up of the cluster with a bit of a side view

I tried to get a shot of her name......it's all glittery and looks lovely,

but I couldn't caputure that in the photo.

Below is an album I put together for my BIL's 40th.

Very simply decorated so people could sign their birthday wishes in it.

I have one more item to share but you will have to wait for that one! ; )

Keep warm my friends

Cheers
