Let it Snow

Well it might as well be snowing it's ruddy cold, raining and windy here in Adelaide.
Not what you would expect for this time of year but I'm grateful it's not hot.
I have been playing around with yet another Tim inspired tag.
I used alcohol inks on a piece of metal shim and then run it thru the cuttlebug with the snowman folder. I then sanded the raised areas, cut him out and stuck him to an embossed tag coloured with distressed inks and some stickles for a bit of sparkle.
I used the idea of the bulging picket fence, from Tim first tag, to hold some snowballs.

Having fun playing and making a huge mess
I hope you are finding time to create a little something at this busy time of year!
Happy Scrapping

Tag 3

Just thought I'd quickly pop in to share this tag
This was Tim's second tag using cut and dry felt. I didn't have any of the felt but used some of stamp foam instead.
It's an interesting technique making your own stamp and colouring with distress reinkers, one that I will need to play with some more to be totally happy with the stamping results.
Here is the link to Tag 2 if you want to check it out.

Another Tag Share

hhmmmmm well............
I attempted T!m's Poinsettia Tag, day 7 on the 12 Tags of Christmas, cos it looked easy!!!
LOL!!
What a tricky little number it turned out to be!
Still not happy with how the petals are arranged and I have left a layer out completely cos I couldn't get them to sit properly........I think a glue gun is a must for this tag.

But I will say it was fun playing with the canvas and grungepaper and I just love that there is yet another type of flower I can create using the Tattered Flowers die.

Happy Creating

Tag 1

Well here is my take on Tim's first tag.
I didn't have the all the products he used to create his first wonderful tag but I figure it's all about inspiration and getting your creative juices flowing! Right?
My thought process was that Tim firstly embossed some grunge board, then cut it and the stuck it down.
So thats what I did.
I embossed the trees onto the grunge board, then cut them out used distress inks to colour and then stuck them onto my tag. I used stickles added the snow capped effect to the trees and the background was created in the same way as shown on the blog. I used Maya Road Pearl Mist and it has given a wonderful swirling snow effect to the background.......looks pretty cool I think!

Thanks for stopping by

Happy creating!

T!m's Tags

Anyone who knows me knows I'm somewhat of a T!m fan. I find this mans creativity amazing and I'm constantly astounded with the new ideas that he comes up with.
For the past couple of years I have watched in awe as he has put together his 12 Tags of Christmas ( the past 3 years are still on his blog if you want to check them out...........please go and check them out you wont be disappointed!!) so this year I thought I would try and play along.
So this is my challenge, not only for myself but also the girls at Artistic, to be inspired by the tags and the techniques used and to make one or make all 12!
I have almost finshed my first tag so I post it soon
Cheers for now
Happy creating

Kraft It Up

This months challenge over at KIU was to use a decorative edge in some way on your LO.
With all the different suggestions they offered up I went with the simplicity of my new Martha Stewart double scallop punch........just an excuse to use it really. LOL!
Throw in some 2Crafty chipboard, Tim Holtz, Stampin Up and Kazzaz stamps the pretty Collections butterflies and some Prima packaging and there you have it.

Quite pleased with how the fence with the weaved flowers turned out.

Not long now til the jolly fat man arrives.......hope you have all been good!! ; )
Thanks for stopping by

Terri

PS Almost forgot I must thank me mate Em for editing my photo!
Love what she has done with it.......just wished she still lived in Adelaide to give me lessons
Loves ya hun.....mwah!!

White with 1

I decided to give WW1 challenge a bash this month.
White + yellow + journalling directly onto the LO.
I have based the LO around the first get Picky sketch, I loved the sketch
but ran out of time and mojo to do anything with it!

Ash is starting high school next year and unfortunately she wont know anyone.
The journalling is telling her to be true herself because she is a beautiful girl and tho it might be difficult, and maybe even lonely, in the first few weeks she will make new friends.
The LO looks somewhat washed out cos it's so bright here today, but I'm pleased with how it has turned out

Cheers for now

November AD Challenge

I was rather drained after all my card making efforts last month that I found it hard to put together a LO for my monthly challenge. I knew what I wanted to do but my mojo had just packed up and went! So I have used two previous LO's as my examples for this months challenge.
The challenge was to use those pesky little things called eyelets and use them en masse!!
I dont know about you but when I started scrapping eyelets were all the rage and I have a stack of the darn things in many colours.......I dont think I'll ever use up my stash!! LOL.
Thanks for stopping by!

Cards cards and more cards

At Artistic I ran an in house card competition to get the girls motivated with their Christmas cards. The wonderfully talented Anam Stubbington, from Twisted Sketches (see link in side bar) gave me permission to post some of her card sketches as inspiration and I added my own twist to each of the sketches.
Here are some of my examples

Scrapdango ran an A B C of cards competition which was great with some fun criteria
Here are a few of my favourites
A Card - Apples, adverbs an alphas

B Card - Birthday, butterfly, bling

D Card - Doodling, distressing and dragonfly

E Card - Eyelets, envelope, something edible

I Card - Inking and "I love" sentiment

O Card - Orange and October Afternoon PP's

Please Note - The last 2 cards I have lifted.

I made over 30 cards in October so I'm right for Christmas and just about any other occasion for the next few months!!!
Thanks for stopping by and havin a browse
Cheers

Back In Black CC

This month CC is in full swing over at AD.
So if you are wanting a few challenges to keep yourself busy why not pop over and check them out! It's a Black CC but it's not all about Halloween........... so dont be put of by the theme.
I'm not one for Halloween, but we recently celebrated my niece's 3rd birthday and a face painter was present. We all had our faces painted.....yes including the adults!! Mitchell had this devil face painted so I thought it would be perfect for this CC

Here is a close up of the beaut Collections wings I recently bought. I painted each piece black using the Collections sponges (love these sponges they make painting so quick and easy!) and then layered them up. Then washed red paint over and finshed it off with a Distress Crackled heart.

Had fun with the title too! I have been following the 2Crafty Blog (see link in the side bar) and the girls regularly post some wonderful ideas on how to dress up your chipboard. Here I used a technique posted by Kerryn a few weeks back. Love how it turned out!

That's all I have done LO wise this month..........but I have been busy!! I have been running a card challenge with the AD girls and have been taking part in Scrapdango's ABC of Cards. Far to many cards to post so I will share a few of my favourite next time.
Thanks for stopping by
Til next time......happy scrapping

AD October Challenge

Another month closer to Christmas - yikes!
This year has just flown by it's just crazy and so not fair.
Here is this months challenge for the lovey ladies at AD.
1 photo
2 CS
3 word title
4 embellishments only
5 PP's
I have been nice and will let them dress any chipboard they use without adding to the embellishment count.
Here is a rare photo with me in it.......I much prefer to be on the other side of the camera!

Enjoy your month

oooops forgot one!

I started this LO at the retreat using one of Kym's gorgeous sketches.
Yet another LO of Mitchell doing what he does best............playing.
Better scrap a LO of Ashleigh soon or she will think I dont love her!!
I have again used the wonderful Lime Rickey PP from BG so bright and colourful and had a go at paper curling.......quite pleased with the result.

Cheers..................Terri!

By the skin of my teeth!!

I got the final LO for the Schools In competition completed
YAY!!
This week was Social Studies
Photos had to be place either horizontally or vertically to represent longitiude or latitude lines on a map. An easy one to see out a fun competition.

Just one more share before I get the kiddos up and ready. Here is my Blind Scrap LO from the CC last weekend.

Have a wonderful day!

School's In

I have really been enjoying this competition over at Scrapdango.
The girls have come up with some very clever criteria based on school subjects
So far I have only been able to complete 3 of the 4 main LO 's and will sadly miss out on getting the electives done.

Here is week 2 Science
Criteria
Picture of an animal - our pet Indian ringneck
Use a technique - alcohol inks on title and crackle paint on chippie bird
Mist or paint
Extra Cred
Fussy cutting
sewing and a journal spot.

Week 3 English

Criteria

At least two different fonts in the title

Use book paper/script PP or stamps

Journalling needs to be 'Once upon a time' story or a letter to the person
Extra Cred

Include a quote

Use lined paper

I have on more LO to get done so I'd better get my skates on.
It's due tomorrow!

Queensland Retreat

I left for the Scrap and Craft with T retreat on the 16th and had the best 4 days a girl could ask for! I stayed with the gorgeous Kym and her beautiful boys, they made me feel so welcome and spoilt me with their hospitality...........THANK YOU!

I got to shop at the Printblocks warehouse!

Oh man that place is HUGE and totally did my head in LOL!!

So I only spent $100.

Friday we drove down to Lennox Head, which is about 10 minutes from Bryon Bay and yes I did yes a hippy or 20!! You can feel the relaxed vibe of the place and it is just beautiful.

At the retreat I knew I wouldn't get much done, mainly because I'm a loner scrapper. So get get a set of ATC, some swap items and my CC and monthly challenges complete, was outstanding for me!

The accomodation was nice, the food was endless and the girls were lovely.

Had a great time sharing, chatting and laughing so much our stomaches hurt!

Just a couple of snaps from the weekend

Shortly after take off from Adelaide

From L to R Laraine, Me and Kym

Arriving home..........City of Adelaide.

The weekend was top off nicely for me by winning a $165 voucher to spend at Tanyah's store!!

How cool is that!

Rain rain go away

It has been tipping it down here for the last 24 or so hours, thunder and lightning....and the wind!! Thought the roof was going to lift off.
Perfect weather to hibernate and scrap.

Being the start of spring I thought a spring themed challenge was in order for the girls over at Artistic.
Create a LO using the lyrics or song title of Elvis Presley's Spring Fever.
The only other criteria is to have a repetitive shape on your LO.

Here's my sample

The 1st also mark the start of the School In competition at Scrapdango.
First week Maths......yuk!
But I loved the criteria.........grid/graph paper, 2 or more geometric shapes, and numbers.
Extra credits could be gained by adding these extras........ruler, a pattern and/or maths symbol.
Covered it all in this LO of Ash enjoying the waterslide at Semaphore

Best get back to the scrapping we have our first elective to complete Music!

And I need to start packing for Queensland and the retreat at Lennox Head...........just under two weeks before I meet fellow DT member Kym. Cant wait!!!!

August's Travel CC

.........is in full swing with lots of great challenges to keep the girls busy!

My challenge was to scrap a travel tradition.

Is their a place you go for holidays every year?

Or is their something you always do while on holidays?

DH parents went to Pt. Lincoln for four weeks every year for about 25 years!

There is some argument as to how many years....none of them can quite remember.

I have used the 2crafty sketch and the Scrapdango Spice kit to complete my LO.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Cheers

Scrapdango Reveal Part 2

Here is the sketch for August at Scrapdango created by the gorgeous Carly.

I will admit I was initally stumped with the sketch until I decided to squish it all together!
Quite happy with the end result and so very proud of my brother who followed his dream to become a pilot.
The Scrapdango kit was perect for this layout with all it's travel related bits!
Hard to see in the picture but in the top right hand corner is an embossed cloud and plane on the patterned paper.

Here is the double layout that I was required to do - I hate double's!!
I never found the journalling in the pile of scrappy stuff either......it really was a mess so I'm not surprised (blush) Will add it later once all my monthly committments are done and dusted.
hmmmmm seems to be a tad on the small side! LOL
Catch you all later

Scrapdango Spice Kit Reveal

Well Part 1 anyway!
I am having such a great time with the Spice kit.
It is filled with papers from Little Yellow Bicycle, they are travel themed but the reverse side offers you more of scope............ there are so many possibilities!
I'm still playing and I reckon another 2 LO's and another couple of cards will see the kit all used up! Great value thats for sure.

Here is the rest of the LO I gave a sneek peak of earlier.

Live Laugh Love

And some cards

I have also completed a double LO but I have misplaced the journalling........it's somewhere lost on the mound of scrappy stuff on my table!!
So will share it with you next time.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving me your kind words wonderful encouragment.
Cheers

Dont think I have given too much away as the next layout is totally different to this vintage style one!! It's a great kit with so many wonderful possibilites. Pop back mid month for the full reveal.

August Challenge at AD

One of the members at AD, Sharon, was complaining how she had alot of stash that she hadn't used. I think we are all a little guilty of that - I know I am.

So I asked Sharon to send me a list of 10 things that she wanted to use and I chose some off the list and made that my challenge for the girls.

I must thank Sharon as I have used some techniques I have been wanting to try out for sometime.

The criteria

1. Use a large portrait style photo 5x7 or larger.
2. Journalling about your chosen subject - at this moment.
3. Chippie title plus at least 2 other types of chippie embellishments.
4. Use alcohol inks to colour your chippie. If you dont have alcohol inks use paint.
5. I want to see masking or stensiling.
6. Use CB or similar to emboss your CS/PP or chippie - you you dont have one incorporate some textured, lace or flocked cardstock.

Some of the criteria might some familar to a few of you.
This LO was going to be for Scrap the Boys......maybe next month!!
Hang on that would be THIS month!! LOL
Thanks for popping in......hope you have a creative month
